Making Herbal Soap

Making milled soap is one easy way to incorporate soothing and fragrant herbs into soap in this hands-on program where you can learn to make unique gifts. Soap can do more than get you clean, it can smell nice, and even offer some healing properties. Everyone will make some soap to take home. The program is free, but seating is limited.  Pre-registration at the library is required.

Come join us as we celebrate all things quince!  For this free festival. we will be gathering at a place that people have been growing food for over 4000 years - the Mission Gardens.  The event is sponsored by the Friends of Tucson’s Birthplace and a wide array of Sonoran foodies will be there to share information with you. Jacqueline will be answering your gardening questions, offering samples of gluten-free mesquite-membrillo muffins, and selling and signing her recent gardening books.

Mosquito Repellent Landscapes

It may be getting cooler but the West Nile mosquito has been captured in every month in Tucson. In the cooler months ahead we will use our yards more and Dr. Soule will discuss steps to take to reduce mosquitoes in your yard, including planting mosquito repellent plants, and tips on how to have a water garden that will not be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
